Tip learned the hard way for GM 2.2L engines

Yeah, I know. NOTHING to do with paintball. But..... for Pontiac Sunfires, Hyundai Tiburon, Chevy Cavaliers with 2.2L Overhead valve engines, watch out if you need to install a serpentine belt. Points I learned today over $90 and 9 hours of work.......

1) Easiest way to remove the belt is to let it break or cut it.

2) There is 1" clearance between the wheel well and the 3/8 notch on the belt tension pulley. You are NOT going to get a break-over bar or socket wrench in there.

3) You will need a serpentine belt bar. But a standard one will not work. You will need no less than a 6 point socket/bolt type with stepper bars. (Expect to spend at least $40).

4) It's a two man job.

5) In the process, you functional vocabulary will be reduced.

I don't think any of that will effect you guys. But if you need to know how to get change one, let me know and I'll show you.

Well, in the end I needed one anyways. By default I've become the mechanic for my parents. Which means I've inherited two other cars. Plus I've seen those things become pretty handy in other ways not even related to cars.

BUT! The moral I learned is that if you got some cash and you have that engine, it's well worth it to just have the shop deal with it. :)
